Today I am Grateful...

Today was the Race for the Cure. I made it in 42.23 minutes. Can you believe that...nursing a syatic nerve problem in both legs...just recently past my 66th birthday...teaching 3 classes, taking a Psychology class and working on being a wife, a companion, a mother and a grandmother! And to think yesterday I even thought I did not want to go. Much to my surprise but late last night when I checked the starting time it was 8:30 like last year but it was not starting @ IGT here in south Reno but was all the way down to UNR where I am taking Psycholgy classes. It was awe inspiration running, walking and almost crawling up and down the various hills round and about the campus. UNR had it beginnings in about 1875 if I remember the sign and it has many old buildings and tress with very mature landscape with even a small pond. The race begin and ended at the Quad where they had a small mini fair around the edges. We just opened two new huge buildings one in June and one about the first of September which has only added to the beauty of the campus. I guess you can tell that I think the UNR Campus is the most beautiful campus that I have ever been able to attend or visit.

I am also grateful for the opportunity to listen to conference these past two days. So excited about the new temples..... Rome...would you believe...! And did you catch the signifigance of a temple in the Kansas City area...which is right next to Independence, MO. I was able to attend the Twin Falls, Idaho Open House as Shirl was at a meeting there and I thought I would just drive by and could not believe my luck when it was the Open House. Though a smaller temple it does have a second story so it seemed large to me because Reno just has one floor. It has a wall mural of Shoshone Falls in it which is just breathe taking. Shoshone Falls is a beautiful falls near Twin Falls.

I am also grateful for each of you my family....I been thinking of family today as Grandma Grimmett's name was on my In Memory of.... Race for the Cure sign and my sister Susan Morrell's name was on the other one in Celebration of Life - plus a couple of young ladies here in the church that are fighting luekemia. I'm thinking of Ashley @ school and the other 4 "A" missing her at home and her Mom and Dad's hearts almost bursting as they adjust to their little birds leaving the nest. I'm thinking of Jessica in the Music Man and I'm singing those songs. Thinking of Brandon in soccer.... MeSoon at the bank and Clark creating at work and looking out for all the family. I'm thinking of Kandra teaching Printmaking and Patrick working so hard on so many projects... and I'm especially thinking about their boys in school and sports and just having fun. I'm thinking of Geneva and praying for an easy birth...thinking of Jared on his fun trip with the guys in his family and thinking of all the young Chugg's going and doing and swimming and swimming and swiming or is it to cold?....I'm thinking of Anthony finish is masters and Rachel recovering from surgery... the newly proud parents....of little Sabrina leaning to move over and make room for just one more....and especially of little Oliver who with his life brings "life" to his little family.... As you can see I think a lot and miss a lot and hope you know that you are always in my thoughts and heart....

I love you all...Mom and Grandmom

Learnin' to Blog is not easy...and I teach Computer Classes on Learning How to Use the Computer. I guess these new things are just passing me by... So bear with me until I get Blog Savey. I just could not correct the last post!

Dad has been busy traveling to Tempe area, Omaha, and tomorrow to Denver. I am busy with school - teaching and learning............!

Loads of love to all you who are our Family.....!

I am finally sitting down to post some "Bikin' Pictures" of Grandpa and Me with our bikes. We are a sight cruzin' around the neighborhood in all our glory. It is hard to believe but everyone seems to think that it is great that a couple of old cronies are trying to do the right thing - Exercise that is....! Not sure why they called it Exercise - they should have called it - Exxxtra Hard Work!

Would you believe I finally found the time and with Rachel's help I am adding a tidbit to our blog. Dad's doctors told him he had to lose some weight....his heart doctor said the best way to exercise was bicyling. Would you believe Dad went out and bought bikes for both of us...! We are a sight to behold all helmented in our cycling clothes. In the near future I will post pictures of us with our bikes...! All has gone well except when I flew over a divider at the church because I forgot how to brake. I ended up with a bruse on the back of my leg the size of a small football and a brused tail bone...both are almost healed.

I am back teaching @ TMCC, in Ceramics and taking a Psychology class @ UNR. Dad is busy working on his various business deals for Jackson Consulting. Thus our fun summer has come to a halt and we are "down to business ".

keeping up!

We hope you enjoy our first official blog entry of two seniors sittin' on a log! We are trying to keep up with all of our kids and grandkids and their neat blogs. Life should be slowing down for us but we just keep doing more and more with Shirl's work and my teaching. Today I'm spending time at Anthony and Rachel's home with Rachel and Sabrina. Rachel is teaching me how to blog and Sabrina is teaching us how to enjoy life as viewed by a tiny tot.
